Drawings: Cartoons

Here are some of my cartoons. I've been honoring a family tradition, started by my father, Aalon Aaron Lee, of producing cartoons of questionable taste and timing on the occasion of special world moments. The cartoons below are displayed in roughly reverse chronological order of creation. Click on any for a larger view.

THE DEATH STAR CAMPAIGN

(Sharpie and pencil, May 2020)

We are in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, as this is an election year, Trump-2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale tweeted "For nearly three years we have been building a juggernaut campaign (Death Star). (Charcoal and pencil, Nov 2018)

Oumuamua was the first Interstellar interloper ever discovered. It was reported to have an elongated shape. Was Oumuamua really just an asteroid?...

(The China Mail, 15 Sep 1962)

Kennedy teasing President Chiang Kai-Shek of the Republic of China (Taiwan), when a Taiwanese U-2 was shot down by a mainland Chinese SA-2 missile. The caption has JFK saying "You Too?", in reference to the American U-2 flown by Gary Powers shot down over the Soviet Union two years earlier.
